Colors of the moon
Maybe this photograph is the reason why NASA is planning another mission to the moon. How lame they must feel to have overlooked all those red and blue moon rocks next to the gray ones!
Actually this is a photo taken by astrophotographer Russell Croman with its saturation greatly increased. He writes that the hues are accurate, just much more vivid than we are used to seeing. Moreover, the colors reveal information about the mineralogy of the moon’s surface.
